A Definitive Ranking of All the Girl Scout Cookie Flavors
Two of our favorite old-school treats have finally blessed us with one beautiful baby—S'mores cookies. Actually, make that two beautiful babies. Yesterday, on National S’mores Day (it’s a thing), the Girl Scouts announced two varieties inspired by the campfire classic: a sandwich-cookie and a chocolate-covered, crème-drenched graham cracker piece of heaven. Um, DROOL.
So to celebrate this magical birth (due date: beginning of the 2019 GS cookie season), we had to grade all the other fine flavors, so you can prioritize next year’s order accordingly. You’re welcome.
14. Cranberry Citrus Crisps
Did you even know this was a cookie? Probably not because it shouldn’t be. We appreciate the effort, Girl Scouts, but we’d rather keep our cranberries and citrus where they belong: in juice, dressing, or sauce.
13. Rah-Rah Raisins
These cookies are about as sad as their name. We do like the Greek yogurt-flavored chunks (note: not real Greek yogurt?) and the heartiness of the whole-grain oats, but WHY RAISINS?!
This gluten-free alternative would be so much better if it lost the peanut-butter base (it's just one more allergen many people have to avoid). We do, however, appreciate the blend of three favorite foundations: oatmeal, peanut butter, and chocolate chip…so we won’t put this kinda-safe, kinda-silly option dead last.
Major props to Girl Scouts for acknowledging the gluten-free crowd (it’s about time, amirite?!). While we heart the crunchy toffee bits, the texture falls a bit flat—a little dry, a lot crumbly. Keep working on the recipe, cookie chefs—you can do it!
A shortbread cookie with lemon icing on the bottom, their lemony flavor is pretty subtle. Cool if you like, say, iced coffee over cold brew, but if you ask us, might as well go big or go home.

9. Savannah Smiles
If you like lemon anything, these wedge cookies are your jam. They’re zesty but not pucker-up tart, and the light coating of powdered sugar actually makes you smile. They’re also really cute—like, tea-party-with-stuffed-animals cute. The only bad thing: After a few bites, you’re probably going to want something, well, less lemony to offset the tanginess.
Sometimes we want to spread jelly on these oatmeal-and-PB sandwich cookies and call it lunch. They’re crunchy in a melt-in-your-mouth kind of way, but we can never eat more than two. Good thing? Bad thing? We’re not exactly sure.
The Thanks-A-Lot—named for the multilingual “Thank You” inscriptions on each cookie—is the naughty cousin to the good-girl Trefoil. The thin layer of chocolate makes her a touch more provocative, and slightly more aggressive. (P.S. Sorry, Girl Scouts, for calling one of your cookies naughty.)
Peanut-butter lovers out there might rate this guy in the top five, but we tend to prefer our peanut butter in its original form (smooth, creamy, and edible by the spoonful). But paired with a basic cookie and milk chocolate, Tagalongs are quite scrumptious—albeit a bit heavy.
5. Sandwich S’mores
We welcome this S’mores variety, featuring graham-cracker cookies on the outside and marshmallow and chocolate in the middle, as a pretty true-to-life rendition. But if we’ve learned anything from flavored Oreos, we suspect they’ll be on the super-sweet side. Not ideal if you, like us, tend to eat a whole row of cookies in one sitting.

This cookie embodies everything we strive for in life: purity, simplicity, sophistication. From the design to the taste (buttery, pleasant, not overwhelming), this is the most refined, delicate cookie of the Girl Scout bunch.
3. Double-Dipped S’mores
Yep, these are clearly the superior choice. While we won’t get to try them until next year, we can only imagine how amazing these chocolate-covered grahams will be.
2. Thin Mint
There are many imposters out there, but let’s be honest, none have mastered the delicate balance of mint and chocolate that a Thin Mint so effortlessly captures.
